The department of pediatrics
is has 60 beds that are divided into ICU, medical ward and
emergency wards. The nursery has 5 warmers, 8 cots and 3
incubators. General outpatients are seen three days a week
and vaccination clinic is open every day. Special OPD days
are allocated to diabetes, neonatology, nephrology and
tuberculosis.

The paediatic medicine
department has a very active neonatal care section and is
equipped with Phototherapy units, Ventilators, Apnea
monitors, Pulse oximeters,

· Air
compressor to deal with premature babies. Recently the
paediatirc and the eye department have started a joint ROP
programme.
Due to its proximity to the
neurosurgery referral unit the paed department sees a lot
of children with cerebral palsies.
Teaching and training
programs for post graduate residents are being taught for
FCPS, MCPS, MD Peads and DCH.
Monthly pre-natal meeting and
guest lectures are also held to facilitate interactive
learning and exposure to both staff and residents. |
