The department of Pulmonology, PGMI/AMC/LGH is offering both indoor and outdoor services. The 6 days week OPD has a turnover of over 2000 patients/month. The OPD is also supervised by Consultant Pulmonologists on daily basis.

A separate TB-DOT OPD is working in collaboration with National TB Control Program to provide excellent TB care facilities on outdoor basis. GENEXPERT, which is latest and state of art TB Diagnostic test, has also been started. 20 indoor beds having central oxygen supply provide round the clock in patients care under supervision of qualified consultant Pulmonologists.

The department provides on call consultation services by consultants to other departments as well. In house diagnostic services including Spirometry, Bronchoscopy (washing, brushing, biopsy, lavage), Pleural biopsy, 6MWT, Ultrasound as well as ultrasound guided procedures. Therapeutic services apart from regular in patient care including Non- invasive ventilation and chest intubation.

Obstructive Sleep apnea is a new emerging entity having a huge disease burden. Sleep Lab having state of the art Polysomnography (Sleep Study) has also been started for the benefit of patients.

The department is recognized for FCPS, MCPS and MD training in the specialty of Pulmonology. The Department provides training facility for DTCD (Diploma in Tuberculosis & Chest Diseases) as well as rotational training of MD & F.C.P.S residents from different medical departments. Daily teaching rounds and frequent bed side teaching activities are arranged

for training of undergraduates, house officers and PG students.

A regular CME program on Wednesday, video based learning classes and clinical case presentation/ mortality conference/ multidisciplinary committee with Radiology and Pathology department on alternating Saturdays under the supervision of consultants is going on side by side.

National events in pulmonary diseases like World TB Day, World Asthma Day and No smoking day are also observed regularly. Awareness about these diseases is highlighted for patients and colleague doctors by CME activity, banners and informative walks.
